USICD White Papers and Other Publications
USICD has published White Papers and other publications listed below:
International Development: Disability Policy & Practice: Bilateral and multilateral agencies are powerful stakeholders in the international development field. They are responsible for driving projects that do everything from improving education and health outcomes in developing countries, to strengthening public participation in democratic processes, to boosting gender equality in employment. Although some of these projects include persons with disabilities among their beneficiaries, others exclude them. And often their exclusion begins in the policies meant to guide staff at international development agencies on how they should carry out their activities. This newly released White Paper from USICD, reviews and assesses disability inclusion in the policies of selected bilateral and multilateral agencies.
Stakeholders' Understanding and Monitoring of the Implementation of CRPD Article 32: Both governments and civil society, including disabled persons organizations (DPOs), can play a role in holding bilateral and multilateral international development agencies accountable for disability inclusion in their projects. A White Paper released by the United States International Council on Disabilities (USICD), Stakeholders’ Understanding and Monitoring of the Implementation of CRPD Article 32, makes recommendations on how. Released in June 2018.
Inclusion of Disability in USAID Solicitations for Funding: This white paper, released in 2015, assesses disability inclusion in 85 U.S. Agency on International Development (USAID) solicitations for funding proposals and the impact on disability inclusion when projects were implemented.
